Making
Studio work across painting, digital processes, and pen plotting. The HP 7475a (a vintage pen plotter that draws with physical pens on paper from digital instructions) is a core tool right now. I'm interested in the gap between what you intend and what the system produces. That's where the work is.
Teaching
Lecturing on the Philosophy of Art at Artist Commons. Helping early- and mid-career visual artists build frameworks for their practices and the vocabulary to talk about their work from a place of intellectual grounding.
Building
Co-founding dyad with Joshua Kampa. AI-facilitated collaboration tools. Early development; thinking about what it means for AI to support the space between people rather than replacing individual judgment.
Reading
Alexander Galloway, Protocol. Working through Simondon on individuation and technical objects; new territory, coming from the Anglo-analytic tradition.
Thinking About
- How AI agents coordinate: not just as a product question, but as a philosophical problem about rules, protocols, and what gets lost in translation
- Art-making and rule-following: what it means to build a practice around systematic constraint
- Mobile games as an art form
